OVERVIEW
Our Aim
I. To advance the education of people facing social and economic disadvantage by providing and enabling opportunities that will empower them in order to improve and meet their educational and employment needs and satisfy their health ambitions and aspirations.
II. To provide or assist in the provision of access to facilities, advice, information and guidance aimed at improving the social welfare of disadvantaged individuals. Through the Charity, people who do not have access to leisure and recreational facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances will be able to use such facilities with the object of improving their fitness, self-esteem and general well-being.
III. To promote and fulfil such other charitable purposes beneficial to excluded and disadvantaged communities in London and in other parts of the United Kingdom and the world as the trustees shall from time to time think fit.
IV. To establish and maintain links for collaboration with individuals and other organisations.
Main activities of organisation:
I. To run workshops across Hillingdon on issues around health and well being, parenting and education.
II. We work with Race on the Agenda as part of the Active Lives, Healthy Minds- which is a mental health and well being project.
III. We work with the NHS/local CCG Hillingdon to raise awareness within the Somali community about Cervical Cancer Screenings.
IV. We deliver monthly awareness raising sessions for parents and carers at Wood End Park Academy.
V. We deliver weekly parenting classes and monthly coffee mornings at Cranford Primary School Hillingdon and Viking School Ealing
