I. To promote social inclusion for the public benefit among Ethnic Minority, refugees and asylum
seekers in West London, who are socially excluded on the grounds of their social and economic position,
by providing:
a. education and training in sexual and mental health awareness;
b. courses in parenting skills to increase family cohesion
c. physical exercise sessions for elderly women
d. surveys of Somalis’ experience of health and other public services
II. To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged
community of Ethnic Minority and Refugees in West London in such a way that they are better able to
identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society by providing education and
training in the English language and in vocational skills.
We run intend to run English classes a for young people and elderly
women. We encourage Somali women and young people to take advantage of education and we work with
the parents of three different schools in Ealing and Hillingdon to strengthen community and parenting
skills, English language, exercise and yoga as a way of promoting well being.
We hire in an accredited teacher to do the yoga, chair exercise events and once a year we organise a
seminar for all of our beneficiaries around issues of importance to the Ethnic Minority women’s
community such as cervical cancer, community development, overcoming isolation, we refer cases of
domestic violence on to other agencies etc. We work closely with different organisations such as Race on
the Agenda (ROTA), Hillingdon for All and NHS Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). We
monitor and evaluate all of the training events to ensure beneficiaries are satisfied and are learning from
the activities.
We are a non political organisation and we welcome open discussion on a range of issues.
Educational Outreach, This service benefits families in Ealing and Hillingdon council.
We work closely with parent to provide holistic support to families with school-aged children. Our support
enables parents to have a better understanding of the British education system, and helps them improve
their relationship with their children’s schools and teachers.
